Calibrated Training Systems is a strength & conditioning facility founded by coach/personal trainer Arjuna Smith and co-owner Brittany Smith. CTS opened in 2011 for all athletes working out, training and competing in all levels. Calibrated CrossFit is located at 673 Wilmer Ave in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Smith and a group of athletes tend to workout together at the same time and do the same workouts. Smith stated," I've probably haven't missed a training day in the past three years."

Every day, Smith handwrites her workouts in a notebook that keeps track of her workout records, times, and goals. There are three parts to Smith's workouts, the first two are weightlifting and strength training and the last part is high intense cardio.

Co-owner of CTS and trainer, Brittnay Smith, has been doing crossfit since the late summer of 2010, Smith started crossfit after retiring from 18 years of gymnastics. Brittnay works out at least 5 days during the week while working/studying full time at the UC Health research lab. Brittnay also has a PhD in neuroscience from the University of Cincinnati.

Smith after working out, she is now coaching the other athletes. The workout was one of the hardest documented, women biked until they burned 70 calories and then did 100 wallball squats; the men did 100 calories on the bike and then did 100 wallball squats. In the CTS gym, one can find many types of items used in CrossFit. Crossfit is a workout regimen that is typically high intensity based that reflects the best parts of gymnastics, weightlifting, running, rowing and the core movements of life. Crossfit is a programed that is driven by data and numbers such as time, weight, and power- this data keeps athletes very motivated.

Pictured is Brittnay doing the third part of her workout which is high intensity cardio. This exercise is a wall ball squat which requires her to squat, jump while throwing a 14 pound ball up to the target on the wall, catching it and repeating over and over again. This motion incorporates the tough movements of an exercise called burpees.

Smith jump roping during her last part of the workout on November 17th, Smith's final part workout was rowing, squat wall balls, and jump roping under 3 minutes. For every failed rep she would do 25 burpees.

Pure chalk keeps the hands dry and allows the athlete to get a better firm and secure grip when lifting.

This is the second part of Brittany's workout on November 5th, she is squatting and then jerking(split) the bar up over her head. This requires a lot of strength and good form.

Smith meal preps her lunches the night before for her and her husband, an example of a meal would be a type of protein, veggies and a carb.

Every night after her workout Smith preps her meals. Smith however does not count calories and or macros anymore due to her extensive knowledge and experience, unless she is bulking.

Smith's workouts are about 2 hours long, and she also uses post workout to help with recovery.
